Model United Nations

Introduction:

Model United Nations is a Model of the actual organization of the United Nations, each student becoming a delegate, representing a country and standing by its policy through specific Points and Motions, designated for debate. These demand that delegates are well-informed and ready to foster healthy dialogue.

Particularly, our school has actively engaged in the Model United Nations program through participating in many highly-esteemed conferences, such as Anatolia College Model United Nations and Deutsche Schule Model United Nations. Additionally, we have established our own MUN club, preparing students to be future delegates and Members to be future Student Officers or even acquire higher positions.

This year, we have the utmost honour to have three of our members serving as Student Officers, some for the first time, in different conferences. Christina, Eleftheria and Konstantinos we are proud to have you in our team and enrich future generations of delegates.

Past experiences and impressions:

Eleftheria Galanou:

“I have been called to represent Israel, Bolivia, the United States of America all the way to Portugal and I have been significantly influenced by all the countries I have stood as a delegate of. New policies, new roles, new positions, all culturally enriching. I have passed through many General Assembly Committees and now I will serve, representing our school as a Student Officer in Anatolia College MUN, reaching a final, yet evolutionary stage of my MUN path.”

Konstantinos Grafopoulos:

“I have also participated in a plethora of conferences as the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America in the Security council and alongside my classmates and esteemed advisors, have enjoyed each bit of those experiences. I started in the Youth Assembly and now I have realized that each committee has been designed to be impactful and enjoyable for all. Like Eleftheria, I have the honour to serve for the first time as a Student Officer, in the Youth Assembly, in the American College of Greece MUN. Hope whoever is reading this, has understood even the slightest part of how rewarding and simply awesome Model United Nations really is.”

Other MUN Club Members:

“Our experience has shown us that MUN is not an extracurricular activity, but a means of social interaction, cognitive development and experience forming.”

“What can I say about MUN? I can mention its brilliance for hours but you wouldn’t understand, so I dare you to come and try it!”

“Our school started an MUN Club and has prepared a wide range of delegates to even potentially become a real member of the United Nations, that’s how much I trust the preparation given.”

So, in the end, I welcome you in our Club as an MUNer and I hope you utilize the values we tried to showcase in our previous texts!
